DescriptionThis is a new model in the Samurai Vintage Series, the "S2000HX." The pocket lining uses olive-colored herringbone twill fabric. The leather label is based on the design of the early Samurai Jeans wartime models, and the flasher features a camouflage pattern. It retains the basic specifications characteristic of wartime models, such as the stitching and the raw-cut hem. The silhouette is a slightly wider straight leg with ample room in the rise and hips. About the Fabric The warp threads are made of uneven 6-count yarn, and the dyeing is done in a deep indigo color with a slightly stronger blue hue, reflecting the image of denim from that era. For the weft threads, a special original uneven 5-count yarn is used, mixed with Samurai’s own homegrown cotton, "Samurai Cotton." This yarn is then carefully woven on the "GL3," an old-fashioned power loom considered a masterpiece by Toyota Automatic Loom Works. The GL3 is one of the earliest power looms in Japan, and it is an extremely rare loom that can weave while preserving the unevenness of the yarn. The natural indigo color of the warp threads, combined with the slubs and rough texture of the short-staple Japanese cotton in the weft threads, results in a very attractive denim that has both a natural look and a rugged feel. The selvedge is off-white, with a light pink color in the center thread that gives the impression of faded red, and a single metallic thread is added to express our pride as Samurai Selvedge Denim.
